A Short Story About Intimacy
(2016) There’s a painting by Felix Valloton from 1927 called Man and Woman.
Two bodies are intertwined. They are naked. Isit an embrace or a desertion? Is it confrontational?
A desire or struggle? Giving, refusing? Choreography or masquerade?
Intentionally, I think Valloton makes sure nothing is clear.
In this series I wanted to recreate the spirit of that painting, that tension between two extremes of the fear of being abandoned & the need to exist as an independant being.
The intimacy that all couples know.
